The Aboriginal Business Studies UTP Stage II equals the first year of undergraduate business degrees from the Asper School of Business. It is internationally accredited and over 80 years old, the Asper School of Business provides graduates with practical knowledge, leadership skills and communication opportunities needed to succeed, innovate, and contribute to society.
Bachelors in Canada, you must complete the university admission requirements by April of any given year that will be considered for admission in September of that year. If you miss the deadline, you can enroll in more courses at ICM or transfer to the University of Manitoba for additional credit hours to prepare for the next April deadline. Depending on the course you have completed, you will be able to transfer up to 60 credit hours in selected degree programs. Details will be provided individually at each port, and you will be advised to choose courses that will increase your credit transfer rights. Admission to Asper School second year departmental programs is competitive and the minimum entry GPA will vary from year to year.
The Indigenous Business course study in Canada provides all students of the Asper School of Business the opportunity to complete their major courses or as a second principal many employers and indigenous employers appreciate it. Students who receive a major Indigenous Business Study to complete any other majors (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Human Resources) will have the opportunity to compete for a job in an organization that works with indigenous communities (such as RBC, Great West Life, Manitoba Hydro, Chartered Accountants, etc.) and also get scholarship for international students in Canada. As the indigenous population continues to grow in Manitoba, this competitive advantage will set you apart from other candidates. This major is open to both indigenous and non-indigenous students.
