At Edith Cowan University two degrees aim to grow your knowledge and skill base and develop career options in competitive, sustainable fields. In Australia, science courses allow you to research problems, interpret data and propose solutions. Business studies will focus on how organizations operate in a broader commercial and economic environment. Combined, the skills and knowledge from these two sectors can put you in a crucial position to work with the complex challenges we will face in the future. Several learning outcomes in each of these qualifications complement the strengthening results at the partner level. Applied to all disciplines, results are obtained on a broad and wide scale.
Major areas studied in Science include: Ecology and Conservation Biology, Cell and Mole Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Natural and Physical Geography. Major areas studied in eCommerce include: Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, Public Relations, and Supply Chain Management.
Students are required to complete 16 Science units, which include 4 Core units, 8 units and 4 electoral units; 16 Commerce units, consisting of 7 Core units, 8 Major units and one Election unit. Students wishing to major in Accounting will need to consult the Course Information Hub as students are required to complete some credit points / units that exceed the requirements for graduation. Graduates of this double degree will contribute to the development and marketing of products and services that utilize and expand Australia's powerful scientific and technological expertise.
