The main site of campus is divided into three faculties: Health and Life Sciences; Humanities and Social Sciences; and Science and Engineering. The Central Teaching Hub is a large multi-use building that contains the Lecture Theatre Block (LTB) and teaching facilities (Central Teaching Labs) for the Departments of Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Sciences. There are 51 residential buildings, which are on or near the campus and provide 3,385 rooms for students. Depending on the building these may be on a catered or self-catering basis. The centerpiece of the campus is the University's original red brick building, the Victoria Building.
All students have 24/7 online access to the library - electronic resources, departmental program notes and other learning materials are always at their disposal. Moreover, zoned workspaces provide quiet and group study space. These also offer a laptop loan service. The IT facilities include over 2,000 computers across campus, all with access to high-speed Wi-Fi.
The Guild of Students it is a student-led organization which keeps all students informed due to its campaigning. There are nearly 200 student-run societies along with a multitude of volunteering projects. Students can also enjoy going on trips or simply appreciate live music. Overall, the guild plays an important role in that it provides a very helpful service.
The Careers and Employability team helps students by providing a peer-to-peer support, expert advice and information. It also advertises vacancies for students on its dedicated jobs board and hosts specific part-time jobs fairs throughout the year. The university also employs many of its own students as Liverpool ambassadors, who may be assigned at working at open days and other such events. The University also uses My Liverpool is an online portal where students can search for specific extracurricular activities in accordance with specific studies to help develop the skills needed to increase their employability.
