With three campuses in Brighton and one in Eastbourne, the university offers over 160 professional and practice-focused courses across many subjects which include engineering, health, media, teaching and art. All of these are taught by lecturers who are experts in their respective fields.

Brighton Students' Union includes over 100 student societies, more than 50 sports clubs and a range of other activities. Students are able to access a range of medical and healthcare services. The university has its own medical centers in Eastbourne and Moulsecoomb.

The institute recognizes the importance of identifying problem relating to mental health and thus offers a range of support to students who experience stress, anxiety, and other such issues. Well-being workshops are also available to support students throughout the year. Each of the university also has Student Support and Guidance Tutor (SSGT) at each of its school who provide support about a wide range of personal and academic issues and can refer students to specialist services. Lastly, free counseling services allow short-term one-to-one support to students.

The university provides bursaries to eligible students who most need financial support.
