In 14 research fields, the University was evaluated at the highest possible classification of 'well above world standard. This was achieved in the fields of Earth Sciences, Geochemistry, Oceanography, Environmental Science and Management, Ecology, Zoology, Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, Crop and Pasture Production, Fisheries Sciences, Forestry Sciences, Nursing, Resources Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy, Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Campus Tour:
The campuses are located in southeast Queensland adjacent to the Gold Coast Airport, in New South Wales at Lismore and in Coffs Harbor. Branch campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth and the University operates The Hotel School Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in partnership with Mulpha Australia.
Coff Harbor campus has 30 acres of rolling hills and bushland in its vicinity with the close proximity to beaches and the city center. The University is co-located with North Coast TAFE (a technical and further education facility) a senior high school, the Coffs Harbor Innovation Hub and the National Marine Science center. It has more than 1,200 Southern Cross students.
The Gold Coast is Australia's sixth-largest city with breath taking beaches, tropical rainforest hinterland, bush walks, parklands, markets, and entertainment. Gold Coast campus is located at Coolangatta, just 400m from North Kirra Beach and adjacent to the Gold Coast Airport. Southern Cross University's Lismore campus occupies 75 hectares of lush sub-tropical grounds including landscaped gardens and rainforest walkways that are home to a variety of native wildlife.

Academic Support to student begins where learning Advisers run free workshops throughout the year, from how to improve your academic writing and referencing skills, to the all-important exam preparation.
Student Mentors provide support to students who need assistance and the Student Representative Council is a leadership body of elected students who represent and advocate for all international students.
Careers Counselors run excellent workshops too, preparing students for the demands of the Australian workplace by offering workshops and Student Welfare Counselors meet with students and run free workshops on a diverse range of topics.
