Overview

Brenau University is a private university in Gainesville, Georgia and was founded in 1878.  The university enrolls over 2,800 students from approximately 48 states and 17 foreign countries who seek higher education in various different fields, ranging from associate through doctoral degrees. The main campus of the Georgia-based university includes the Brenau Women's College. Brenau also has another campus in Norcross, Georgia. 

Starting in 1878, Brenau was one of the few universities who wanted to provide education to women. Today, they are proud to carry this dedication to education in every step they take and are proud to be of service to first generation students, military members, veterans and families, including traditional and nontraditional students. 

Brenau is proud to have:

Brenau offers students more than 80 degree options including doctoral, master's, specialist, bachelor's and associate degrees, as well as professional certifications, in more than 50 areas of study. Terminal degrees include a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design, a Doctor of Nursing Practice, a Doctor of Occupational Therapy and a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Student Life

  • At Brenau, students are provided with various opportunities to find a community and cohort for themselves and stay get an authentic college experience on campus with our clubs, organizations, performances and events

  • There’s always something interesting happening at Brenau, which include theatre and dance performances, cultural festivals, organization fairs and more. Brenau ensures students get not just academic opportunities but also enough social opportunities to enhance their skills and build upon their talents. 

  • At Brenau, you can adjust your class schedule according to your own needs. Some students try to schedule their classes on certain specific days but some prefer a lighter schedule by spreading them out. At the end, it is completely your choice.

  • They have services like Career Development Centre that helps students prepare for interviews and with job searching. Other student services include Student Government Association. 

Notable Alumni:

Brenau University has a track record of giving society creative individuals who have made a name for themselves and these include Wenonah Bell, a famous painter and artist, A distinguished alum of Brenau is Nellie Weldon Cocroft, ragtime music composer who is known for crafting music that touches the soul. Another important personality is Clyde Connell, who impresses the masses as an abstract impressionist artist. Clearly, Brenau is the university you want to consider if you  have a passion for the arts.
