How to Apply for A UK Study Visa

Students from Pakistan need to make the following preparations to be able to study in the UK:

The visa application platform in Pakistan allows you to book an appointment with a visa application centre and apply for a visa online.

While applying for a visa, Pakistani students may have to provide biometric data. For security purposes, countries use your biometrics as an extra means of identification (like your fingerprints and photos). The application process also involves attending a visa interview.

A Tier 4 (General) student visa will be needed for Pakistani students to study in the United Kingdom. This visa is designed specifically for students just like you who are eager for international education in the UK.

The validity of this visa is up to the course duration plus an additional month. Therefore, you may stay as long as necessary to complete your degree program.

To remain in the country during your entire degree program, you will need to renew your visa each year. After completing your degree, you will need to apply for a different visa or a visa renewal with the immigration office to stay in the United Kingdom.

Documents Required to Apply

You will need to provide the following information when applying for your student visa:

  • Passports and other travel documents are in good standing.
  • An offer of enrollment (CAS) from your course provider.
  • 4.5 IELTS (each module must be 4.0)
  • Proof of your ability to support yourself and pay for your course - your circumstances will determine how much money you need.
  • The ATAS certification is required for specific courses and nationalities.
  • If you are under 18, proof of consent from your parents or legal guardians is required.
  • Proof that you're under 18 and living with a parent or guardian.
  • Results of your tuberculosis test.
  • A written agreement from your financial sponsor if you've been sponsored for your living and/or course expenses for the last 12 months.

UK Student Visa Fee

There is a fee of 348 GBP to apply for a British student visa under Tier 4 (General). You can pay this fee in several ways, depending on your situation. You can either pay via a bank transfer or pay on location at a visa application centre in Pakistan.

The British visa does not require Pakistani students to have medical insurance. However, an extra fee of 55 GBP will be charged if you apply through a user-pay centre.
