Every student enrolled in any public or private education organizations are permitted to work part time for a limit of 20 hours every week ONLY during semester breaks or in holidays of over 7 days at cafés, petroleum stands, small markets and resorts as long as their student passes stay valid. It would be ideal if you note that earlier endorsement from the Department of Immigration is required.
Foreign Students are NOT allowed to fill in as cashier. Furthermore, in the hotel industry students are NOT permitted to fill in as artists, masseurs, artists or GROs (Guest Relation Officers). Students are not permitted to participate in any activity or action considered to be indecent.
Part time work applications must be made through the college/university at which the students are admitted to study. The student should be available with the ambassador of the institute at the Immigration Department of Malaysia so as to present an application for part time work.
