We pride ourselves on our breadth of electrical and electronic engineering program that are based on the demands of industry, so they give you the skills that employers look for. Our strong links with industry mean you’ll have many opportunities to engage with companies during your studies. These include site visits, industrial placements and, for students on sandwich courses, practitioner mentoring.
USW electrical and electronics labs have industry-standard tools and software. Staff are committed to exploring new ideas to improve existing systems, such as medical equipment, and mobile and satellite communications. Lighting and Live Event students have industry-standard equipment on campus. Students gain key skills in in The Cube, a dedicated space on campus where you can practice and realize your creative ideas and designs.
USW’s staff is authorized WYSIWYG (lighting and venue pre-visualization software) trainers and you can become qualified to the IET’s 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. You’ll discover ways to use enterprise-general software program for the design and production of civil engineering projects. There also are possibilities for discipline journeys and work placements.
