Deakin University's Master of Information Technology (Professional) is developed to enhance the particular information technology skills offered through the Information Technology program by providing students with the opportunity to undertake an industry-based study or research project under the guidance of our internationally recognized research staff. The course has a strong Information Technology industry that focuses on and empowers students to apply the knowledge and skills they gain in professional work and enables them to create innovative Information Technology solutions to solve real-world problems. Students will develop collaborative and leadership skills through close mentorship during industry events and become involved in researching sustainable IT solutions. Students can choose to specialize in a variety of fields, including Data Analytics, Networking, Software and Services Development, cyber security, IT and management strategy and Virtual reality, depending on their interests and career aspirations.
Knowledge of Information Technology (Professional), students will develop a broad understanding of IT discipline including its dynamic nature, expert knowledge of IT technology, and deep skills in their specialized area of technology. While studying for a master's degree in Information Technology, you will learn everything you know about designing and building computer software. This will allow you to develop great technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, essential to your future work. Programmed languages (e.g. Java, Python, C ++, PHP) will be your new friends, because they will be the major tools you need to write software.
During the courses offered by your IT degree, you will learn how to change code capabilities, how to create software that integrates well with different applications and find out how digital networks work and connect with users. You will also understand how the development of the right software can make the difference between a successful product and a complete failure.
