This MSc program is jointly taught by the School of Engineering and Computer Science and the Institute of Dentistry. It brings together world-class technology in both schools to give your insight into the new medical and dental technologies and opportunities available in the industry. The program is co-taught by the School of Engineering and Equipment Science and the Institute of Dentistry. It is designed to provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of the underlying mechanical, physical and chemical properties of dental materials, both in preventative and restorative treatment. It is intended for surgeons, dentists, materials scientists and engineers who want to work in the dental support industry, as well as the general health care industry. Upon completion of the course, you will have a specialized knowledge of dental materials and will be able to give reasons for choosing and instructions for all classes of dental materials.
The School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS) was the first school in the UK to open a building department and has been at the forefront of international engineering research and materials ever since. He will leave this MSc as a well-qualified graduate, with the potential to be employed both in leading industry and research.
