There will also be opportunities for at least four weeks of internship in corporations, consultancies or not-for-profit sectors, as well as overseas placement, under the shadow of tutors with extensive experience in a variety of communication industries. Thus, if you’re an international student looking to pursue a postgraduate course in Information and Technology in Australia with scholarship, this is the university to look towards.
Master of Commerce (Information Systems and Technology) was awarded the 6th best information systems rankings for a Master’s degree in Oceania under the prestigious Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking in Information Systems Management in 2016. In light of this, you will be taught advanced problem-solving skills, methods to plan information systems and information technology, and combine this information systems planning with business planning. With the knowledge and skills you obtain, you will also complete a successful research project in your final semester, while going on to prepare a dissertation on your findings under the supervision of one of our experienced faculty members. You can even go on to obtain a PhD with permanent residency in Australia. This will pave the path to employment in management and leadership roles in private and public organisations, where you will be required to involve information systems in a management context. These career roles may include that of Senior System Analyst.
Note: This major varies from the Master of Information Systems and Technology, which is suitable for graduates without substantial IT experience. If you are experienced enough, consider this course instead. Also, since this major comes under the Master of Commerce degree, you will firstly need to apply for the Master of Commerce degree.
