Good design and solid design. What else is required for buildings? Try to stay in one without heating, cooling, electrical power, lighting, water or drainage. What would it be like to work on a tower without lifting it? How to manage without cell phones, IT system or Internet connection? All of these programs and much more are for developers of construction jobs. They transform buildings from empty shells into spaces that are convenient for people to use. From the very beginning of the design phase, construction engineers have been involved to help architects and other design team members determine the size, design and layout of the building, as well as strategies to determine the design of energy efficient buildings, enabling them to continue to operate.
Buildings are largely responsible for carbon emissions, so this activity plays an important role in reducing the impact of the building on climate change. Of all the disciplines that apply to the built environment today, a construction services engineer has wide reach and profound impact, affecting almost every aspect of construction. The Master of Building Services Engineering course provides a broad base of fields for construction services and energy engineering, with particular emphasis on the link between architectural and environmental, modern industry, and developing technology analysis. While in the United Kingdom, the course is accredited by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Energy Institute as it meets the educational requirements to become a Chartered Engineer (with a graduate degree). Courses are approved on behalf of the Engineering Council.
This study is based on what was formerly the National College for Heating Ventilation and Refrigeration Engineering and the Center for Energy, and maintains strong links with all relevant industry sectors. Most of the leaders in the fields of energy and construction engineering were students of London South Bank University, lending a great deal of guidance and co-operation to industry, placement and recruitment. Employment prospects go well. Construction and engineering work is expected to accelerate in the UK, Europe and worldwide over the next 20 years and the demand for construction services engineers continues to spread.
