Accounting is the process of sending financial information about a business to relevant users or organizations such as shareholders, creditors (including banks or retailers), financial analysts, economists and government entities. Accounting can be divided into two main categories: Accounting and financial management. Accounting managers focus on reporting to people within the business and provide information to employees, managers, owners, managers and auditors. The ultimate goal is to provide managers with the basis for making major decisions related to management and operations. Finance teaches you about managing banking, money, insurance and financial operations, real estate companies and public institutions. During the course, you will develop your planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills. The course is jointly run by the School of Business and Management and the School of Economics and Finance, and is ideal if you wish to pursue a career in the financial services industry, professional finance, banking and finance, or management. You will explore resource management in the context of today's changing financial landscape, and learn to criticize traditional and contemporary practices. Professional skills such as project management, data analysis and quantitative research methods will be developed using new, compelling modules such as overseas business analysis and management control.
