Health Science program at Curtin College is a generic term that includes all the methods used including delivery and improvement of health care. Bachelors in Health Science include information from other fields, such as natural sciences, engineering, technology and mathematics, which can be used in health care practice and research in public health education. There are over 50 different fields in the field, which can be divided into three major categories: physical sciences, clinical engineering and health physics, and life sciences. Most universities usually offer degrees in health sciences at undergraduate level, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Professional Studies, but also offer degrees. Special techniques in health sciences include anatomy, physiology, pharmacy, radiography, neurophysiology, microbiology and immunology.
Focus areas can also refer to courses designed to manage, for example health information management, health and administration resources, health planning, or global health. The Faculty of Health Sciences offers internationally recognized degrees that provide a solid foundation for a wide variety of professions. Curtin College offers two-year direct entry for the Bachelor of Science (with a major’s degree), Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors) and Bachelor of Psychology at Curtin University. Admission is offered through a Phase 1 or Phase 2 Diploma in Health Sciences. Choose from the following major areas: Exercise Sports, Human Biology Preclinical, Laboratory Medicine and Molecular Genetics & Biotechnology.
The Diploma of Health Science includes the basics you need to continue studying in Bachelor of Health Science focusing on Nutrition, Western Herbal Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Naturopathy and Public Health. You will gain a broader understanding of how the human body works and access to a broad range of highlights that provide you with valuable information and skills to use in various aspects of health care that allow you to adapt this course to suit your career. After graduation, students may be eligible to apply for entry into the Curtin University programs in public health like (health information management, nutrition, health promotion, occupational health, public health and sexology), pharmacy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology.
