BSc (Hons) Biology

In the first year you’ll build a strong scientific understanding of biochemistry, genetics, physiology and ecology, mastering new practical skills along the way with advanced lab work. From there you can choose from a wide range of modules for your second and final years, from evolutionary genetics and infectious disease to neuroscience, reproductive biology or plant diversity. Mix and match to take a broad approach to your studies, or drill deep into the areas that interest you most.

Biology combines the unity and diversity of organisms. During this time of biology degree you will be able to develop interests in biomedical and animal science and gain a comprehensive foundation of molecular biology, as well as various access modules such as marine ecology and medical ecology. Evolutionary, ecological and environmental aspects are emphasized widely in our biotechnology, and there is the opportunity to follow applied biological aspects and learn about basic biological processes and processes. Extensive use is made of the wide range of local and aquatic environments between field studies and practical studies.
