Sociology is a public study. It examines social, cultural and social changes, as well as the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociology involves asking questions about people's health and society, developing an understanding of our diverse and identifying the causes and rapidly changing world to social problems. The University of Wollongong Bachelor of Information Science (Sociology) will provide you with an understanding of cultural diversity and awareness of unfairness and inequality. Including a general basis for compulsory social science course in first year, followed by an officer in Sociology. In the third year, you will complete a real-world capstone project that brings together threads of degree. You will complete your degree and a small amount of study space from any field that offers registration. You can also study foreign options, or stay in the area and work on building your communication skills across cultures.
Sociology is part of the social sciences and aims at gaining knowledge of human social phenomena by performing visual and critical analysis using quantitative and quantitative techniques, interpretive methods, hermeneutic methods and philosophy. The field of study looks at issues such as deviance, social change, social class, culture, social mobility, law and religion and enhances scientific knowledge. Sociologists try to understand the issues that affect society. Sociology students find answers to critical questions of our society such as: how is culture created? Is social equality possible?
Students enrolled in a Bachelor in Sociology will develop their communication, analytical and research skills as well as their understanding of the various aspects of people and their behavior. Graduates in sociology tend to follow one of these approaches: criminal justice, human services, education, research, policy or business. Find employment in a variety of fields such as public relations representative, rehabilitation counselor, state agent, journalist and advocate.
