This course allows you to obtain theoretical and practical knowledge of exercise and sports physiology, biomechanics, motor control, and exercise and sports psychology.A client-centred approach enables you to develop strong communication, on-the-spot thinking and problem solving skills. The first year of this course focuses on the foundations of exercise science, units of which you will study in collaboration with students from different health disciplines. In the following years, you will specialise in exercise and sports science, by carrying out laboratory practice and fieldwork. Completing a 140 hour professional placement in a relevant organization will allow you to excel in partnerships with Fremantle Football Club and Hockey Australia, as you get an opportunity to work alongside some of Australia's top athletes. The professional development and interpersonal communication skills that come with this course are fundamentals to client-centred practice.

Upon completing an Exercise and Sport Science degree you will be able to choose from a range of careers, or even complete postgraduate study to major in subjects such as clinical exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, health and physical education, sports science, research and tertiary education. You can even go on to do your Postgraduate degree or even obtain a PhD with permanent residency in Australia.
