Marine engineering is a discipline that deals with the issues of design, innovation, construction and maintenance of marine and navigation equipment. In Australia, marine engineers focus primarily on the design and production of aboard ship systems, ships, or under the sea. They work on building propulsion systems, auxiliary power plants and machinery. Their professional duties include working on the board to maintain these programs. Marine engineering is closely linked to other fields such as marine architecture, military science, Oceanographic engineering, or automotive and mechanical engineering. These study areas require excellent physics knowledge, and in particular the mechanics, propulsion, applied calculator, control engineer, and computer-aided design (CAD).
Honors courses in the Edith Cowan University for Bachelor of Engineering (Marine and Offshore Engineering) are conducted in partnership with the Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania in Launceston, Tasmania. Marine and overseas engineers are involved in the design, manufacture, transport and execution of programs related to the offshore and offshore oil fields. This course is ideal for students interested in the major mechanical and technological applications used in the oil and gas industry, such as turbocharged engines, large gas generators, or oil and gas.
Graduates of this course will have the ability to work in areas with strong marine engines, or to improve the production of crude oil to reduce emissions while increasing yields. Marine and overseas engineers have strong employment opportunities in many sectors including oil and gas, shipbuilding, alternative energy, marine surveys, defense, industrial process, energy production and consultation. Graduates can also apply for any suitable position open to mechanical engineers such as Oil & Gas Engine, Marine Engine, Process Engineer, Marine Engineer, Mining Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and W Maritime Engineer.
